Meet the Full-Time Dad Behind Tori Artist

Hello, parents and little artists!

My name is Tony Ng., creator of the Draw with Tori series — a collection of drawing books designed for children who are just beginning their creative journey. I'm also a full-time dad to two wonderful kids, Tori and Charlie.

I want to be upfront: I'm not a professional author or a graphic designer. I'm simply a dad who wanted a better way to teach his child how to draw. Everything in these books was created for my own children first — and I'm now sharing it with families who might find it just as helpful.

Every illustration in this series was drawn by hand in Adobe Illustrator, one step at a time. No AI-generated artwork was used. Every drawing, lesson, and page was carefully crafted and refined to make learning to draw as simple and enjoyable as possible for young children.

It all started in 2024, when Tori was around three years old. I wanted to help him learn to draw, so I searched for age-appropriate ideas and broke them down into easy step-by-step lessons using familiar shapes — mostly circles, ovals, curves, and straight lines — so he could follow along and create drawings on his own.

It worked beautifully. Tori was so proud of his very first drawings, and watching his excitement kept me going.

Over time, I shared this approach with friends and families who had young children. The response was overwhelmingly positive, and many of them encouraged me to turn these lessons into books. After countless hours of planning, sketching, revising, and organizing, the Draw with Tori series officially launched at the end of 2024.

My hope is that these books help children build real confidence in their drawing — and give families a joyful reason to sit down, create, and grow together every day.

Thank you for being part of this journey.

Warm regards,
Tony Ng.
